One of the best things about the holiday shopping season at Global Response is being there to help a customer get a special gift to a special someone. With more than 76 percent of Americans planning to shop in stores or online over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, the job of our Brand Specialists in the call center – creating exceptional customer experiences – becomes all the more important.

In-store vs. online holiday shopping

From Thanksgiving Day to Black Friday and Cyber Monday, shoppers will take to the stores and online nearly equally, says a Deloitte survey. About 84 percent of those surveyed plan to shop in-store, while 87 percent say they’ll shop online. About 51 percent of shopping budgets will be spent online, while 46 percent will be spent in the stores.

The way weekend shopping breaks down, according to the survey:

  • 79 percent of survey respondents will shop on Black Friday, whether online (55 percent) or in the stores (69 percent).
  • 74 percent plan to shop online Cyber Monday.
  • 22 percent said they’d shop in stores on Thanksgiving Day.
